Movie Review: Another Cinderella Story

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to watch more movies, so I begun today!!

OK, thats an obvious lie, I never have New Year’s resolutions because I’m already awesome!!! The truth is; I should be working but when I saw that this excellent-looking movie starring Selena Gomez and some other losers was on, I knew I had to watch it.

*awwwww*

Its exactly like the Cinderella story, except set in a modern-day American high school, just like the first one. Which I KNOW everyone has watched.

OK I’m still  the process of watching it but so far so good, it is by far outpacing the first one with Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray (cheater!)

You of course, will know Selena Gomez from her excellent work in The Wizards of Waverley Place. Need I say more?

No I needn’t.

(Fun fact: Ted’s son who listens to Old Ted ramble on about how he met his kids’ mother is none other than Justin from Wizards of Waverley Place )

So far she’s awesome, and her dancing skills are on point! What!

The guy(Andrew Seeley) isn’t very cute though, he looks like a douchebag, and at first I thought he was going to be a red herring, like in that movie with Amanda Bynes – Love Wreck – where it turns out her real true love is not the rock star guy but her oldest bestest (guy) friend.

Or, you know, like 80% of high school and rom-com movies.

Anyway, douchebags aside, this movie seems to have it all. Bitchy and ugly (and how) step-sisters, bitchy queen bee who wants young Joey Parker the high school celebrity famous for singing and dancing back (he dumped her already WHAT!) and evil stepmom who just confiscated Selena’s ?? (Cinderella’s ??) (I don’t know the main character’s name!!) phone for a month!!!! TORTURE. Google informs me that our young heroine’s name in the movie is actually Mary. Gay. No offence to all you Mary’s. Anyway this movie is super-awesome, and you can learn a lot of super-cool dance moves from Mary and Joey! Totally gonna pull those moves next time I’m out. Watch out Brussels!

(Another Fun Fact: One of the evil sisters is actually Ava Wilson from Season Two of Supernatural. She was a BAMF on Supernatural and she is SUCH A LOSER here… way to downgrade Katharine Isabelle (thats her real name heh .)
